Allison Richman

College '12 (Soprano)

With beach-blonde hair, and a kickin' voice, what more could you ask for? Hailing all the way from New Rochelle, NY, Allison is quite the rock-star. She's got the looks (ow ow!), the voice (makes the boys go loco), and the personality to boot (Uggs, I think). Keep an out eye for this rockin' soprano when she struts her stuff.

Emma Ellman-Golan

College '12 (Soprano)

Hail to the Chief! This rockin' soprano will sing the glory of the Democratic party all day and all night. The only thing Emma cares about more than Penn Dems is her claim to the front seat of the car. But seriously... When she isn't serenading us with her sexy Israeli accent, she is busy hanging out with her friends Barack and Michelle or perhaps appearing on CSPAN and MSNBC. Unfortunately, her buddies from Washington can't make it to our shows, but if you're lucky they might show up at the afterparty!!

Alex Haber

College '13 (Tenor, Vocal percussion)

Alex, our brilliant bearded beatboxer, defies the stereotype that "percussionists aren't real musicians" by playing keyboard and guitar in his spare time (when he isn't watching the Jets or playing poker). With countless different sounds in his beatboxing arsenal, this junior from Scarsdale, NY lays down the beat for the rest of the group.

Ezra Margolin

College '13 (Bass)
President

Ezra is tall and wise beyond his years. His powerful bass notes aside, Ezra is valued for his down to earth perspective and enlightening youtube videos. On a serious note, Ezra has recently been released from Muppet rehab, an intensive year long program designed to take away ones ability to make the "meep" or "borrk" sounds. Don't make any mention of the Habanera around him, or make references to cartoons, furry creatures, or other muppet related things. The group saw him through this trial, and we now can all vouch that he is ready to reenter society.

TOP

Lior Melnick

College '13 (Bass)

If you feel the entire room vibrating, it could be because of an earthquake. Or, it could just be Lior singing notes that are too low to be heard by the human ear. His smile and attitude glimmer before the audience, and his goofy tallness is truly the cutest thing you've ever seen. If you want to forge his signature, it looks as if he signs "Jim Melnick." If you want to forge his essence, it can't be done 'cuz he's one of a kind.

Rachel Klein

College '12 (Alto)

We sure are lucky this awesome alto transferred to Penn, because it allowed us to snatch her up. Rachel has a gleaming smile and a belting Latin/African-American/every-other-style voice that will knock you off your feet. Just wait 'til you hear this girl sing - if only Rutgers knew what they missed out on!

TOP

Rebecca Borison

College '13 (Alto)

Rebecca brings 110% to everything she does. Whether it's rocking out to an alto harmony, going out of her way to get to know the newbies, creating a beautiful arrangement, or cheering for a sports team no one cares about post-LeBron (Go Cavs!), Rebecca is pretty much guaranteed to be working harder and smiling harder than any other 'Tone. This convivial Clevelander is exactly the kind of girl you'd want in your a cappella group and we couldn't be luckier to have her diligent dedication and exceptional enthusiasm for the third year running.

TOP

Andrew Brown

College '14 (Tenor)

OMG It's Elvis!........ Nope, it's Andrew Brown. He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King". Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Andrew moved to Memphis, Tennessee with his family at age 13, and he began his career there in 1954 with Sun Records. The record company clearly noticed his stunning vocals and funky hair. Andrew is truly the king of Rock and Roll A Cappella. He has a range that goes as low as the Dead Sea and as high as Mount Everest. He is able to sound like Barry White and Mariah Carey at the same time.

TOP

Nick Mishkin

College '13 (Tenor)

Hailing from Boca Raton, this sweet-voiced tenor is known for making the ladies swoon. This stud brings a smile and a positive attitude to every practice. A Beta-bro junior majoring in both Music and Economics, Nick's real passion is music. When he's not chilling with the Shabbatones, you can find Nick in the Beta chapter house or singing, writing, and producing music for his band, UnRapt.

Jeremy Pincus

College '14 (Bass)
Musical Director

Attention ladies! The tall gentleman with the dashingly good looks, bright smile and scarf wrapped around his face is NOT single. That's Jeremy Pincus, who hails from CHI-City, IL-State and he has a girlfriend, so please try to control yourselves. An all-state choral phenomenon, Jeremy will make your heart melt with his impromptu sweet baritone harmonies to classic choral pieces like "Silent Night," "Kiss the Girl" and "Oops I Did it Again." But wait. There's more. Jeremy is a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field. Prepare to have your own eureka moment as you experience his rich, resonant voice.

TOP

Marissa Schwartz

College '14 (Soprano)

Marissa is the 3rd Shabbatone to hail from Newton, Massachusetts. This mezzo-soprano, known to some as KoLeesha, has a fantastic voice and an impressive range. Now in her second year with the Shabbatones, Marissa has charmed her way into our lives and makes us feel as if we've known her forever. One of the nicest people you will ever meet, Marissa can be found in Hillel or giving you a friendly smile on the walk, but mostly in Hillel.

Marlee Stesin

College '14 (Alto)

Marlee Stesin does not like titles. Even though she is technically from Minnesota, she prefers to be considered the token Canadian Shabbatone. And even though she's technically an alto, she's been known to embarrass both basses and sopranos alike by singing their parts better than they can. Despite the difficulty we have had in labeling Marlee correctly, we do know this: she is a beautiful young woman filled to the brim with invigorating optimism and an almost unbelievable amount of talent. But do not let her Midwestern charm or her absolutely infectious smile fool you. Marlee is as ruthless as can be when she steps up to the mic to kill a solo. Her flavorful sound is one of a kind and her presence - on and off the stage - is treasured dearly by group members and friends alike.

TOP

Jason Liberman

College '14 (Bass)

Attention ladies! Hailing from the best off-campus house at Penn, this star-studded gent never lets a lady walk home alone. If his kind manners don't win you over, you are sure to be impressed by his ability to hold down low bass notes. Plus he beat boxes. An aficionado of Classical Music and The Beatles, Jason Liberman is also a master pianist. Though he is no martyr, you know he'll always have your back. And did we mention he's single?

TOP

Teddy Schneider

College '15 (Tenor)

Teddy "The Hustla" Schneider is one of the newest members of the Shabbatones - and we're so lucky to have him! His hugs make you melt, and his talent to whip out Friends lines on demand is uncanny. His positive energy and witty sarcasm have made this semester fun and exciting. Even though we have to share his talents with UPMUNC, with all the running he does, he's never late to practice. This feisty newbie isn't scared to take on Andrew in the legendary Tenor vs. Tenor battles and has even snagged himself a few chicka din-dins along the way. Get ready, ladies and gentlemen, for this tenor to steal your heart - he's already won ours!

TOP

Ellie Zuckerberg

GSE '13 (Soprano)

Ellie Zuckerberg, our dazzling new mezzo-soprano, has the voice (and arms) of an angel. As a grad student in education, Ellie is most definitely a phenomenal teacher. All of the Shabbatones can attest to her skill in teaching multiple crucial lessons: first and foremost, that we should all be chill in practice. Second, always make creative dishes with leftover pumpkin and bring them to practice to share (especially if you're running late). Third, Srugim is an Israeli show best discussed on MONDAY - after it airs on Sunday. Most of all, appreciate Ellie for being our newest and awesomest grad student - she's a star!
